Content Sources

Content sources are where Amplicast pulls your original content from. Synced items land in the Raw stage of your Content library, ready to become platform posts — automatically or on your click.

Supported source types​

Push APIExternal systems POST content to Amplicast — your CMS, a script, a Zapier step. Each push source gets its own URL + secret (shown once, regenerable).
Manual draftsCreated automatically when you use Save draft in the Create editor — your drafts live in Raw like any synced item.

Setting up a source​

  1. Go to Sources → Add Source and pick the type.
  2. Enter the connection details (credentials are stored encrypted; secrets are never shown again after creation).
  3. Map fields where applicable — which field is the title, the body, the image, the published date.
  4. Pick target channels — the platform accounts this source may create posts for. Only channels enabled for the source's project are offered.
  5. Pick a publishing mode (below) and a sync frequency.
  6. Save. Use Sync now to pull immediately, or let the schedule run.

Draft mode is the safest starting point: everything collects in Raw, and you use Create posts or Open in Create per item (see Publishing).

Channel targeting is explicit​

A source only ever creates posts for the channels you selected — never "all accounts" implicitly. A source with no targets skips post creation and says so in the logs. Channel availability itself is managed per brand on the Channels page, so a source can never post outside its project's enabled channels.

How syncing works​

  1. Amplicast checks each source on its schedule (you can also Sync now).
  2. New items are imported once — items are de-duplicated by their external ID, so re-syncs never create copies.
  3. Items land in Raw; images referenced in the content (cover + inline article images) are captured and appear in the Create tab's Gallery.
  4. Depending on the mode, posts are created automatically or wait for you.
