Content Sources

Content sources are where Amplicast pulls your original content from. Amplicast syncs your content automatically and transforms it into platform-ready social media posts.

Supported sources

Supabase

Connect any Supabase database table as a content source. Amplicast reads your data and transforms it into social posts.

Setting up a Supabase source

  1. Go to Sources in the dashboard

  2. Click Add Source

  3. Enter your Supabase credentials:

    • Project URL -- Found in your Supabase project settings
    • Service Role Key -- Found under Settings > API > Service role key
    • Table name -- The table containing your content
  4. Map your columns -- Tell Amplicast which columns contain:

    • Title -- The headline or title of your content
    • Body -- The main content text
    • Image URL (optional) -- A URL to an associated image
    • Published date (optional) -- When the content was originally published
    • Status filter (optional) -- Only sync rows matching a specific status
  5. Configure targeting:

    • Target accounts -- Choose which platform accounts should receive posts from this source
    • Publishing mode -- How posts should be handled (see below)
  6. Click Save and Amplicast will start syncing

Publishing modes

Each source can be configured with a publishing mode:

ModeBehavior
AutopilotContent is synced, transformed, and published automatically
ReviewContent is synced and transformed, but waits for manual approval before publishing
DraftContent is synced and saved as drafts for you to edit and publish later

How syncing works

  1. Amplicast checks your source for new content every few minutes
  2. New items are imported and a content package is created
  3. AI transforms the content for each target platform
  4. Based on the publishing mode, posts are either published immediately, queued for review, or saved as drafts

Target accounts

By default, new content from a source is published to all active platform accounts. You can narrow this by selecting specific target accounts:

  • Only publish blog posts to LinkedIn and X
  • Only publish product updates to Instagram and Facebook
  • Send different content types to different channels

Configure this in the source's Target Accounts section.
